The Skate Mid is inspired by the classic Sk8-Hi, a staple shoe for Vans footwear. When the Sk8-Hi first came out, some skaters would fold down the upper part of the ankle support to have more freedom of movement. So with this model, instead of releasing a new colorway or collaboration, Vans chose to modify the actual design of the shoe. This subtle change makes for a practical new version of the classic model. Combined with the simple and clean color options, the Skate Mid becomes a very appealing sneaker. With the immense amount of sneakers being produced in a parade of colors and patterns it is refreshing to see simple and functional creativity/design.
